ACADEMIC VISION CARE PROGRAM is an academic-performance based vision care for students from grades K through 12 that comprehensively addresses the ever changing 21st century demands that children face today. A new type of vision care that addresses the visual needs from early development and preparation to support and achievement. It is the kind of vision care that every child and every student can benefit!
PROJECT S.A.V.E. is a public awareness project founded by Dr. Makini that stands for 'Supporting Academic & Visual Excellence.'  Its purpose is to protect our children and help determine if your child has been or could be under suspicion of being misdiagnosed with ADHD when they indeed have a correctable visual condition. Schools today neither rule out nor even consider visual problems as a possible cause for poor academics and behavior in students.  They may have done so decades ago, but unfortunately, those times have gone.  Psychology has not only made a place for itself in our school systems but has overshadowed the basic fundamentals of seeing and hearing.  Did you know that in the 1990's the Federal government had implemented a modified medical program to address ADHD in schools and allowed a different definition of the term 'Diagnosis' to exist.

State of the art equipment including the latest Humphrey visual field perimetry used in detecting and treating glaucoma.
Fundus photography is a specialized medical imaging test used to take pictures of the structures located at the back of the eye, including the retina.  It produces a series of photos that are helpful for diagnosing, documenting, and monitoring certain eye conditions.
Handicap persons and young children and toddlers are welcome to our office.
